The testimonial herein, built upon the interview conducted in the year 2012 with nurse Isabel Cristina Kowal Olm Cunha, integrates one of the activities of the discipline “Ethical, Legal and Historical Analysis of the Nursing Practice” of the Post Graduate program of the Nursing School of Universidade de São Paulo and constitutes part of the project titled “Memory of Brazilian Nursing in the state of São Paulo”, incorporated into the Library of Historical Center of the Ibero American
Nursing Department. The depositions shed light on the contributions and professional dedication of the interviewee in a number of associative activities, from her academic life and professional input to a breakdown of the challenges posed by nursing as a practice, subject taught in classrooms, research and management of nursing and health services.
