Fragments of Wanda Horta’s personal and Professional trajectory
contributions in the nursing area

This article aims to rescue some highlights of Wanda Horta’s life we adjudged to be meaningful, having in view to consider and analyze the influences of an academical, personal and professional trajectory that contributed to her formation and constitution as a nursing professional. The presentation of original data still unknown for the majority of nursing professionals was due to an interview granted by a brother, who brought to light important aspects of the familiar context she
lived. School document and memorial written by the theoretician herself – submitted to the Nursing School at USP, applying for Adjunct Teacher Contest – were also part of the research instruments. Data analyzed featured Wanda Horta as a person of strong and sensitive personality, visionary professional, recognized for her innovatory work, committed to the profession and resolute in the fight for better health, quality of life for the population and, consequently, for more social justice.
