Objective: to make visible the protagonist of Crimeia Alice Schmidt de Almeida, as a nurse, former political activist, and feminist from her youth at the current times. Methods: This is an interview retold according to the treatment of qualitative data proposed by Bourdieu (2021). Results: the wealth of details about the difficulties experienced, of all orders, as well as the strategies of survival and help to other people reveal important aspects of the personality of the interviewee and her persistence in the revolutionary mission. Conclusion: the principles and humanitarian values that govern sickness will coadunate and strengthen the concretization of the goal of life chosen by the interview. It is concluded that illness has the potential to expand and strengthen the resistance of people like this by valuing life in all its forms and demonstrating the politics of care to transform the sociopolitical and health conditions of the population.
